The Minister recalled that the simplified procedure for import of light industry goods in the volume of 2000 kg and in the amount of up to USD 10, 000 was introduced in 2005.

"This regime has been canceled. In accordance with statistics, 0.4% of the total volume of goods imported into the territory of Kazakhstan has been registered in this simplified procedure. Most part of the products were from Turkey and China", the Minister added.

According to the Minister, 10%-15% import duties for light industry products will be imposed since today.

"Nevertheless, this does not mean that goods from Turkey and China will not be imported henceforth, they will come in a normal manner and will be competitive. This measure should not affect the final cost", the Minister noted.
