ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Unemployment rate in Kazakhstan is much lower than in the EU member countries, announced Vice Minister of Healthcare and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daulet Argandykov.
"Unemployment rate in Kazakhstan decreased to 5% in 2014 from 6.6% in 2008," Vice Minister Argandykov said at a weekly press conference at KazMedia Center in Astana on Thursday. "As a comparison, unemployment rate in the EU member countries climbed to 11.3% in 2014. Of course, data may vary from country to country. For example, jobless rate in Eastern Europe is quite high - 18%, whereas in Germany it makes less than 5%. Greece has the highest unemployment rate in EU," he added.
