Kazakhstan attracts French technologies and direct investments into its innovation projects

On April 21 the Kazakh delegation, led by president of Kazatomprom JSC Vladimir Shkolnik with the participation of Kazakh Ambassador to France Nurlan Danenov, held talks with Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing of France Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet and Bernard Bigot, Chairman, Commission of Atomic Energy and Alternative Energy (CEA). The Kazakh delegation's visit was of crucial meaning in the light of new tasks the President set.

The French Minister expressed her interest in the Astana policy and governmental efforts in the sphere of environmental protection and development of renewable energy sources, promising joint projects. The Minister thanked for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and take part in the ministerial conference "Environment for Europe" and voiced support to Kazakh environmental initiatives.

Vladimir Shkolnik and Bernard Bigot signed a memo of scientific cooperation. The memo opens new prospects and becomes an important component to have the joint projects realized. Besides, the parties focused on the program of works of the international renewables centre which will be built in Astana.
