Kazakhstan attends 64th session of UN General Assembly
160 issues regarding the global economic problems, struggle against terrorism, ensuring peace and security, protection of human rights and environment are on the agenda of the session. On September 23-30 there will be held general policy debates, in which over 100 heads of states and governments, foreign ministers and heads of delegations will take part.
At the first day of discussions presidents of USA, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Libya and France will deliver speeches. On September 24 leaders of Turkmenistan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia and Moldova will also make their reports. The Kazakh delegation headed by Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev will arrive in New York for participation in the forum.
On September 24 the United Nations Security Council meeting at the Head of State/Head of Government level will be devoted to the issues of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. US President Barack Obama will chair it.
The Summit of Climate Change will be held on September 22, in which Kazakhstan will be represented by the delegation of the Ministry of Environment Protection headed by Nurgali Ashimov.
