Kazakhstan assumed office of TURKPA presiding country

ASTANA. April 27. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakhstan has assumed the office of the TURKPA presiding country today.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov devolved the powers to Speaker of the Kazakh Majilis Ural Mukhamedzhanov at the TURKPA meeting in Astana.
The session focused on a wide range of issues including the budget of the Assembly Secretariat and draft agenda of the plenary session.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries was founded on Nursultan Nazarbayev's initiative in 2008 in Istanbul with the participation of the speakers of four countries' parliaments - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey - who signed the agreement on establishment of the organization.
