Kazakhstan as chair country developed Road Map for OSCE - Jeannette Kloetzer
According to her, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office ensures sequence of his predecessors' initiatives and establishes the basis of work for the following months and even beyond 2010.
"Looking back on those six months of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE, it is crucial to say that the situation is non-standard. Introducing the program, the Chairman-in-Office could not imagine that in his area of responsibility there would appear a conflict situation which needs to be settled. I wanted to emphasize the steps taken by Kazakhstan on sustainable settlement of the conflict and establishment of stability in Kyrgyzstan", J.Kloetzer said.
She reminded that there would be held many important events. Stockholm will host a conference which will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the corresponding Stockholm Human Rights Document. A lot of delegations will take part in the High-Level Conference on Tolerance and Nondiscrimination in Astana. And Almaty will host an informal meeting of the OSCE Foreign Ministers in Almaty on July 16-17.
"The Kazakh chairmanship developed the Road Map. The OSCE under Kazakhstan's chairmanship proves itself as a powerful dialog platform", she noted.
