TASHKENT. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan expresses its gratitude to Uzbekistan for its support of the country's antinuclear initiatives," Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin told a briefing.
Held at the Kazakh Embassy, the briefing was devoted to the country's nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation initiatives. The ambassador briefed on Nursultan Nazarbayev's initiatives voiced at the III Nuclear Security Summit held March 24-25 in The Hague. "25 years have passed since the foundation of the Nevada-Semey antinuclear movement. This movement brought Kazakhstanis together in aspiration to disrooting nuclear threats both in Kazakhstan and around the globe. No country has suffered more in peacetime from the terrible impact of nuclear weapons than Kazakhstan. That's why our country joined the most active followers of expanding the nonproliferation process in the international arena," he added.
