Kazakhstan appoints Gaji Gajiyev as Weightlifting Federation President

Gaji Gajiyev has been named the new President of the Weightlifting Federation of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Born in 1974, Gaji Gajiyev graduated from the Institute of Finance and Law, Kazakh University Ways of Communications, earned his master’s degree from the Kazakh University Ways of Communications as well as an MBA degree from the Astana Department of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

Gajiyev was engaged in the commercial sphere in Kazakhstan and China before his appointment as the managing director at Zhol Zhondeushi company in 2015. In the space of one year, he held the post of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Naiza-Kurylyz Concern. Gajiyev was appointed as the Director General at SA Construction Group in 2017.

Gaji Gajiyev also stood as a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republican Union of Martial Arts of Kazakhstan (in 2009), Vice-President in charge of foreign affairs at the International Kickboxing Federation (in 2013), President of the Republican Federation NOMAD MMA of Kazakhstan (2015), President of the Kung Fu Association of Kazakhstan (2016 to 2018); President of the Pencak Silat Association of Kazakhstan (2018); First Vice-President of the Weightlifting Federation of Kazakhstan, member of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
