Kazakhstan ans ESCAP discussed green economy coop

ASTANA. August 28. KAZINFORM The Kazakh delegation met with Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Noeleen Heyzer, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.

The Kazakh delegation headed by Permanent representative of Kazakhstan under ESCAP, Ambassador of Kazakhtan to Thailand Marat Yessenbayev partakes in the international conference Asia-Pacific Ministerial Dialogue: From the Millennium Development Goals to the United Nations Development Agenda beyond 2015 in Bangkok.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the ESCAP in the "green" economy.

The parties considered the participation of the ESCAP delegation in the international conference "Green Bridge 2013".

Ms. Heyzer highlighted the proactive role of Kazakhstan and its leader Nursultan Nazarbayev in promotion of "green" economy.

The ESCAP Executive Secretary supported the importance of the partnership program "Green Bridge" linking Europe and Asia in the widespread introduction of "green" technologies and approaches into the national economy.
