Kazakhstan and Turkey step up customs cooperation

ISTANBUL. April 2. KAZINFORM Kazakh delegation headed by the deputy chairperson of the Customs Control Committee of Kazakh Ministry of Finance Amaniyaz Yerzhanov visited Ankara in March this year.

The delegation also included the leaders of customs structures of Astana city, Karaganda, Aktobe, Mangystau regions and also the Central Customs Laboratory of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the visit was to study the working principle and the applicable standards of Turkey. As part of a five-day visit, the customs service of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Customs and Trade of Turkey Ziya Altinyildiz, reviewed the work of the customs services of Turkey, got acquainted with the functioning of a "single window" system security and customs regime of the customs authorities of Ankara.

Z.Altinyildiz expressed his satisfaction with the achievements Kazakhstan, which were made possible by astute policy of the fraternal country. He informed about the customs system of his country among the top ten European customs and expressed willingness of the Turkish side to enhance mutual cooperation in this field.

Besides, it was agreed to prepare and sign a memorandum of cooperation between the customs authorities of Kazakhstan and Turkey, including the training and skills development.
