Kazakhstan and Spain to develop roadmap of investment cooperation

Issekeshev held talks with Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, Secretary General for Industry and SMEs of Industry, Energy and Tourism Ministry Luis Valero Artola, UNWTO Executive Director Marcio Favilla.

Asset Issekeshev and Spain's Secretary of State for Trade Jaime Garcia-Legaz chaired the fifth sitting of the Kazakh-Spanish Intergovernmental Commission for cooperation in the field of economy and industry.

In addition, the first sitting of the Kazakh-Spanish Business Council took place with participation of about 100 Spanish companies.

During the visit, the sides agreed to develop a roadmap of Kazakh-Spanish cooperation in the field of investment and technology transfer and with this purpose to establish a special working group.

Kazakhstan and Spain signed the strategic partnership treaty in 2009. Spain is the fifth economy in the European Union. Spain's GDP made USD 1.37 trillion in 2011.
