Kazakhstan and Spain strengthen environmental protection cooperation

"Kazakhstan is striving for sustainable development, and I am confident that in the framework of our cooperation the factor of the environment will play an increasingly important role. We are aware of the huge potential of "green" economy of Kazakhstan, the efforts that your country is making to modernize the economy and the role played by renewable energy in the new government's plans," the Spanish Premier said.

According to him, Spanish companies are increasingly interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan, especially in the area of environmental protection.

"We intend to actively participate in the development of "green economy", we are committed to participate in this common effort. Central Asian countries and Kazakhstan can always count on the support of Spain," Rajoy emphasized.

In addition, M.Rahoy noted the increase in Spanish exports to Kazakhstan.

"Every year you attract more and more Spanish entrepreneurs. This explains the fact that Spanish exports to this country have grown significantly over the last 3 years. For instance, in 2011 exports increased twofold, in 2012 it grew by 68%, and for the first half of this year it reached 209 million euros exceeding the annual volume of 2012," the Prime Minister of Spain concluded.
