Kazakhstan and S Korea signed mining exploration memo

ASTANA. September 13. KAZINFORM Chairman of JSC "Kazgeologiya" Bulat Uzhkenov and President of "Korea Resources Corporation" (KORES)  Kim Sin-jong signed a memorandum of cooperation on Thursday in Astana.

The main purpose of the memorandum is to establish a basis for cooperation between the two companies, through joint exploration of mining projects in Kazakhstan and through joint cooperation based on equality and mutual benefit. Kazgeologiya of Kazakhstan and KORES of South Korea reached consensus under the memorandum.

The active participation of the South Korean companies in the development of Kazakhstan's  subsoil is a very hot topic in the investment and economic circles of South Korea. The Republic of Korea is one of Kazakhstan's leading economic partners in Asia.

To strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote business and mutually beneficial relations in the field of exploration, joint research and other special programs will be implemented through a separate contract between Kazakhstan and South Korea containing mutual content and conditions.

Joint implementation of the projects on exploration and extraction of mineral resources will have a positive effect on economic development and cooperation between the two countries.
