Kazakhstan and Russian Central Electoral Committees

ASTANA. June 23. KAZINFORM - June 18, 2009 in Saint Petersburg Chairmen of the Central Electoral Committees of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation K. Turgankulov and V. Churov signed a Protocol on partnership and exchange of legal information between the two countries' Committees, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Central Electoral Committee of Kazakhstan.
Two countries' parliament officials were present at the signing ceremony. This was an important and timely step towards development of cooperation within the common integration processes. The experience gained by the two electoral agencies in the sphere of ensuring elective rights of the citizens and legal regulation of elections at different levels is big enough to exchange and help find solutions of the problems and objectives of the national electoral systems and foster the development of the two countries' electoral system, the two parties noted.
Kazakhstani and Russian experts say that the signing of the document will give a new impulse to the development of Kazakh-Russian cooperation in the improvement of the electoral process.
