Kazakhstan and Russia discussed joint space monitoring issues

ASTANA. KAZINFORM A two-day expert meeting of the Kazakh-Russian working group for setting up a joint system of space monitoring and forecast of emergency situations started in Astana, the emergencies committee's press service said.
It is organized as part of the joint action of Kazakhstan and Russia for 2013-2015 aimed at expansion of integration processes and defining top bilateral cooperation priorities. Heads and leading experts of the Kazakh emergencies committee, Russian Emergencies Ministry, Defence Ministry of Kazakhstan, Airspace Committee, Russian federal space agency and others are taking part in it. Those attending focus on the fulfillment of a package of measures of the action plan in an effort to set up a joint system of space monitoring and forecast emergency situations and other urgent issues of bilateral cooperation. The event is expected to give an impulse to the development of ties in emergency management.
