Kazakhstan and Russia defense ministers tallied up the 2013 cooperation

Astana. December 23. KAZINFORM - The defense ministers of Kazakhstan and Russia have met today in Moscow to talk over bilateral military-technical cooperation and interaction of military-industrial complexes, the press service of Kazakhstan's defense minister informs.

Adilbek Jaxybekov and Sergey Shoigu tallied up their incumbent agencies' collaboration in the departing year and noted the two states' absolute mutual understanding in the area of defense and security.

The two states' trade turnover in 2013 was a record high $140 million.
This year, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation signed a Treaty on military-technical cooperation, agreed on further development of the two states' single regional air defense system, the lease and order of use of Kazakhstan's test facilities by Russia.
The ministers said the agreements signed at the meeting would step up further strengthening of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan and Russia.
