Kazakhstan and Russia are improving system of joint space forecasting of disasters
This topic has become the subject of discussion during the meeting of Emergency Ministries of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation during the regular videoconference.
In an interview with reporters the Director of strategic planning, information analysis, science and new technologies of the Emergency Ministry Syrym Gabbassov noted significant progress in mutual activities between the two ministries.
Every day at eight o'clock in the morning of Astana time there is a video conference between the Republican Crisis Center of Emergency Ministry and the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ruissian Emergency Ministry.
"We make exchange of operational information, mostly from the border areas. Also, we warn each other of the cross-border dangers. Each day the Russian Emergency Ministry's duty officer informs us of the facts of fire detection in our country. Since the beginning of the fire season this year, our Russian colleagues have sent us more than 30 operational pieces of information based on satellite monitoring. This has allowed to react to the consequences and use our strength and resources for firefighting", said Syrym Gabbassov.
As part of the meeting the two agencies agreed on two documents: General regulations of the exchange of information between the crisis centers of Kazakhstan and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and subject-targeted regulations of satellite monitoring data exchange.
