Kazakhstan and Poland extend economic cooperating

ANA. October 2. KAZINFORM /Arnur Rakhymbek/ Second session of the Kazakh-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation has been held today in the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The session was chaired by Executive Secretary of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Rapil Zhoshybayev from the Kazakh side and Deputy Prime Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak from the polish side.

R.Zhoshybayev complimented wide prospects fro the bilateral cooperation of Astana and Warsaw. According to him, the Kazakh side appreciates the support of Poland in the coming Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship in 2010 and in the realization of Kazakh "Path to Europe" program.

W.Pawlak expressed interest of Poland in the extension of its participation in the Kazakh economy. In particular, Warsaw is ready to propose its services in the field of modernization of the Kazakh power plants.

Besides, issues of the transport sector were discussed at the session as well. The sides are interested in establishment of direct air links. Polish LOT Air Line Company made concrete proposals on this issue. The Kazakh representatives proposed to use the Kazakh transit potential in establishment of new routs from China to Europe.  

Prospects for cooperation between two countries in agriculture, healthcare, tourism, education, science, and social protection of the population, support of small and medium business were discussed as well.
