Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to build industrial trade and logistics complex

A roundtable themed 'Kazakhstan in time of changes: innovations, investments and human rights' was held in Bishkek, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Addressing the sociopolitical, business, and expert communities of Kyrgyzstan, Counsellor of the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan in Kyrgyzstan Yerbol Sarypbekov focused on developing Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan investment projects.

He said the joint industrial trade and logistics complex construction project is underway to increase commodity turnover and production capacities of the two states. To increase cargo carriage and trade the two countries started modernization and reconstruction of the checkpoint at the border.

He noted the Aksu-Kamyshanovka checkpoint will open to decrease the burden on the Karasu-Aktilek checkpoint by 70%. The reconstruction of the Besagash-Kichi Kapka began. The Aisha bibi-Chon Kapka checkpoint will be also updated soon.

Besides, the two countries started building the Almaty-Issuk Kul highway. The project is expected to cut travel time in half. The new road will boost tourism and create favorable conditions for increasing exports from the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan through Issyk Kul region to Almaty and further to the north of Kazakhstan and Russia.

In addition, the countries plan to build a large wholesale and retail center in Almaty region for Kyrgyzstan farm producers.

Besides, large investment projects, including the construction of the Kambarata HPP 1 with the participation of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and construction of solar power plants with capacities above 300 MW, are being implemented.

As written before, Kyrgyzstan and China set to strengthen co-op in developing minerals for clean energy technologies.
