Kazakhstan and China sign Agr’t on cooperation in emergency prevention and response

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Governments of Kazakhstan and China have signed an agreement on cooperation in prevention and elimination of emergency situations.

The document was signed by the Kazakh Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Bozhko and the Chinese vice Minister of Civil Affairs Jiang Li. The agreement envisages cooperation in the field of monitoring hazardous industrial processes and natural phenomena, mutual notification about the status of potentially dangerous objects and the environment under the threat or emergency situations, the exchange of information about forecasting emergencies. In addition the agreement also provides for exchange of experience in training to act in emergency situations, assessment of risk for environmental and human health due to possible contamination caused by from industrial accidents and natural disasters. The document also involves organizing and coordinating interaction of relevant government agencies in emergency elimination; prevention and rapid notification of the possible occurrence of natural disasters on transboundary rivers; joint planning, development and implementation of research projects; exchange of scientific and technical literature and the results of research.
