Kazakhstan an active player in Central Asian energy arena

BEIJING. July 12. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan as an important SCO member state plays an active role in energy security development and economic cooperation in Central Asia," Party Chief of the Communist Party of China of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China Zhang Chunxian said at a meeting with Kazakh Ambassador to China Nurlan Yermekbayev.

The Kazakh diplomat said that Kazakhstan and Xinjiang have good cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and other spheres.

"I hope, my visit will boost deepening of mutual understanding, further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in above-mentioned spheres and also in the field of joint Eurasian market development and common progress," N. Yermakbayev sad.

In turn, the Chinese official noted Kazakhstan and China enjoy long-standing friendship and common interests. "Our countries have not only strategic partnership, but also play an important role in regional affairs," Z. Chunxian added.

According to him, the Chinese side hopes to continue to strengthen and improve trade and economic cooperation and further development of Chinese-Kazakhstan International Border Cooperation Center "Khorgos."
