Kazakhstan allocates over KZT 1 bln for innovations

"This year companies will be provided with innovative grants amounting to about KZT 1.8 mln. It is expected that this program will increase from year to year. We think that the increase will occur several times. There will be allocated KZT 7.5 bln within the framework of the program", the Vice Minister said.

As N.Abdibekov noted, innovations support is not restricted only by grants. In particular, it is planned to develop legislative acts which foresee promotion for companies working in the innovative sphere.

According to him, the list of instruments of nonfinancial support of innovation entities is under expansion. There are created five constructive bureaus, technologies transfer centers, commercialization centers, technology parks and etc.

According to the Ministry's information, at present there were received 336 applications for grant obtainment.
