Kazakhstan actively involved in development of North-South and TRASECA corridors - KTZ President A. Mamin
Thus, congratulating Azerbaijan's railway workers on the upcoming 130th anniversary of the sector, A. Mamin said: "Strengthening and developing traditions of mutually beneficial cooperation, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan railways provide transport communications between the countries".
According to him, in January-August 2010 the volume of goods transportation from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan made 928 tons. Alongside, as A. Mamin noted, the logistic scheme of transportation includes both overland and mixed railway-water transport and cargo transshipment in Aktau and Baku seaports.
Besides, A. Mamin pointed out active involvement of Kazakhstan in development of transcontinental transport corridors, namely North-South and East-West. In particular, he said that being one of the major participants of these international transport corridors, Kazakhstan takes measures for developing transport infrastructure in order to ensure its export and transport potential.
The President of the Company also said that Kazakhstan implements at present the project on construction of a railroad section from Uzen town to state border of Turkmenistan. The section is a part of Uzen-Kyzylkaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan new line opening additional ways connecting Kazakhstan with Turkmenistan and Iran, Gulf States, South and South-Eastern Asia.
Touching upon Kazakhstan's participation in implementation of North-South transport corridor project A. Mamin told about East-West direction. As he said, construction of Korgas-Zhetygen railroad section will remove infrastructure restrictions on international transportation with China and South-Eastern Asia.
