Kazakhstan 2020 Nationwide coalition to start its activity only after formal decision on referendum

ASTANA. January 27. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan 2020 Nationwide coalition of democratic forces will start its active work only after making a formal decision on referendum. This has been announced at the first session of the coalition in Astana on Thursday.

"We should act in a lawful manner, within the limits of legislation, hence it is suggested to start an active work of the coalition after making a formal decision on referendum", First Deputy Chairman of Nur Otan People's Democratic Party Nurlan Nigmatullin said.

The coalition was organized by Nur Otan Party in support of an initiative to hold a referendum on extension of terms of the First President of Kazakhstan. The Democratic Party Adilet, Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan, Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstani Social Democratic Party Auyl, Green Party Rukhaniyat and many other organizations joined it.

In his opinion, all members of the union should work and solve organizational issues.

"Over 600 political and public organizations joined the Nationwide coalition in such a short-term. It is clear that the initiative on holding the referendum united not only political parties, but all the civil society. And it is another confirmation of the nationwide support of the strategic course of the Head of State", N.Nigmatullin outlined.
