Kazakh weightlifters to return medals won at the Asian Championship and the Universiade in 2013
The Asian champion in 2013 Alexandra Aborneva, silver medalist of the Universiade in Kazan Alexander Zaychikov and the other seven Kazakh weightlifters has been disqualified by the International Weightlifting Federation, Vesti.kz reports.
The web-site of the International Weightlifting Federation has published the list of athletes whose blood contained illegal substances. Kazakhstani athletes' names were included in the list. Thus a two-year suspension was assigned to the Asian champion 2013 Alexandra Aborneva, the Asian champion, silver medalist of the Universiade in Kazan Alexander Zaychikov and a bronze medal winner of the Continental Championship in Astana Eugeniy Evstafiev. Myra Fayzollayeva, Asem Sarsekenova, Aidar Kazov, Maxim Laktionov, Galymbek Zhubatkanov and Erbolat Zholamanov did not pass the doping test as well.
According to the report on the athletes' testing, the blood of Aborneva, Fayzollaevoa, Sarsekenova, Evstafiev, Kazov, Zhubatkanov and Laktionov contained the banned substance called “dehydrochlormethyltestosterone”, while Zaychikov and Zholamanov had stanozol. All the weightlifters' period of disqualification expires in the summer of 2015.
