Kazakh Vice PM meets with Japan Ambassador
Issekeshev noted the dynamic growth of Kazakh-Japan bilateral trade, which by the end of 2010 exceeded USD 1 billion. Investment from Japan to Kazakhstan amounted to over USD 3.5 billion.
Presently, 45 enterprises with participation of Japanese capital operate in Kazakhstan. Among them are MITSUBISHI, Marubeni, Sumitomo, Mitsui, Toyota Tsusho Kazakhstan Auto, TranStar Logistics, Daikin Kogyo Corporation (production of air conditioners, refrigerators), Kazakh Japanese-Metallurgical Company.
The Vice Prime Minister stressed the need to intensify efforts to conclude the agreement on the liberalization, promotion and protection of investments. There was noted the importance of the agreement on cooperation in peaceful uses of atomic energy, which came into force May 6 this year.
