According to N. Nazarbayev, improvement of trade-economic cooperation is one of the most important issues. "The volume of commodity turnover rose threefold in 2007 after the visit of Mr. Karimov to Kazakhstan and reached around USD 1 bln 800 mln. And this is not the limit. For instance, our trade relations with Switzerland make USD 5 bln, despite the distance between our countries", N. Nazarbayev pointed out.

"Today we have charged our Governments to make a list of the goods Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan can purchase from each other without resorting to other countries and work in these directions. I am confident this measure will allow raising our trade", the Head of the State said.

In accordance with statistics, in 2009 commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan made USD 1 bln 196 mln 300 thousand and reduced by 33.1% compared to 2008.
