Kazakh tennis player survives Roland Garros opener

ASTANA-PARIS. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan-based tennis player Yulia Putintseva has sneaked into the second round of Roland Garros in Paris, France, Vesti.kz web portal reports.
In the opening match 20-year-old Putintseva needed 2h 15min to defeat Serbian Aleksandra Krunic in three sets 3:6, 6:3, 6:3. The Kazakhstani hit 1 ace and made 3 double faults, whereas the 22-year-old Krunic served no aces and made 5 double faults. Next up for Putintseva is Ukrainian Elina Svitolina who stunned Belgian Yanina Wickmayer in two sets. It was reported that another Serbian player Ana Ivanovic earlier celebrated her first round win against Kazakhstani Yaroslava Shvedova.
