Kazakh team with 14 medals after Asian Taekwondo Championship in Tashkent

Third Asian Taekwondo Championship (ITF) held in Tashkent was organized by the International Taekwondo Federation, the Ministry of Culture and Sport and Uzbekistan Taekwondo Federation. The tournament was attended by about 500 athletes from 11 countries.

Juniors and adults demonstrated their skills in complex exercises, single combats, in special technique, as well in breaking items and demonstration fights.

The team of the Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by 12 athletes including five juniors and seven adults. As a result, our athletes have been awarded14 medals including three gold, six silver and five bronze ones.

The sportsmen won gold medals in sparring: juniors Ilyas Kaiypbay (62 kg) and Katrina Venkutkina (40 kg), as well as adult Vladislav Hwang (57 kg).

Silver went in junior sparring to Aliyar Dosabayev (56 kg), Maksim Bastanogov (68 kg), Eldos Amanzholov (57 kg), Bayantas Kairgeldiyev (70 kg), Asel Adelbayeva (up to 50 kg). In addition the men's team won the silver medal in complex exercises.

The bronze medals were given to Asel Adelbaeva (2nd dan rank), Aliyar Dosabaev (2nd dan rank), Eldos Amanzholov (3 dan rank), Askar Amir (2 dan rank).

In the frame of the championship there was carried out the Congress of ITF, where Aidos Amanzholov, the head of the Kazakhstan National Taekwondo Federation, was appointed to the post of the Vice-president of the Asian Taekwondo Federation.
