Kazakh shooters to fight for Olympic berths at Asian shooting championships

Military servicemen of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan are participating in the Asian rifle/pistol and shotgun championships ongoing in Indonesia and Kuwait, Kazinform News Agency reports via the Ministry of Defense.

The Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship started on January 5 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and will last until 18.

Four members of the CSKA are competing in Indonesia. They are military officers Valery Rakhimzhan, Yury Yurkov, Eldar Imankulov and conscript soldier Yaroslav Makhnev. Valery Rakhimzhan made it to the finals and ranks now 5th. 380 athletes from 29 Asian countries are participating in the event.

More than 500 athletes from 40 countries compete in the Asian Shotgun Championship being held Al-Kuwait, Kuwait, from January 12 to 22.18 shooters represent Kazakhstan at the event. Among them are junior sergeant Assem Orynbay and conscript soldier Alisher Aissalbayev.
