Kazakh Senate to consider bill on alliance treaty with Russia
"The treaty was inked by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin on November 11, 2013 in Yekaterinburg at the 10th Forum of cross-border cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia. Kazakhstan sees Russia as its key economic partner in the Eurasian space and development of multifaceted partnership with Russia meets long-term strategic interests of Kazakhstan," Vice Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mussinov said introducing the bill. In his words, the document will serve as the basis for cooperation with Russia and reflect the fundamental principles of bilateral interaction. It will also promote bilateral political dialogue between the two nations in order to strengthen peace, stability and security in the region. After detailed discussion, the committee made a decision to submit the bill for Senate's consideration.
