Kazakh Senate Speaker thanked Japan for backing Kazakhstan's idea to convene Spiritual Leaders Congress

ASTANA. May 24. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kairat Mami has received today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan Yuzo Harada, the Upper Chamber's press service informs.

The parties focused on further development of the Kazakh-Japanese bilateral relations including the inter-parliamentary cooperation.

"Kazakhstan considers Japan as one of its key partners in Asia", the Senate Speaker said and noted the importance of strengthening the ties between the parliaments of the two countries.

There is a Group for Cooperation with Japan's House of Councilors in the Senate. The Japanese Parliamentary League of Friendship with Kazakhstan hugely contributes to the development of bilateral relations too.

"We are interested in holding the consultations and exchanging experience in law making activity", the Senate Speaker said and added that there are all necessary conditions for further deepening the investment and technological cooperation.

Having informed of the forthcoming 10th session of the Secretariat of the World and Traditional Religions Leaders in Astana scheduled for June 20-21, Kairat Mami thanked the Japanese side for its support of Kazakhstan's initiative on convocation of the Congress of Spiritual Leaders.

"I believe that the representatives of Japan's religious clergy will take part in the forum", the Speaker resumed.
