Kazakh Senate Speaker meets with Chairman of Russia's Mufti Council

Opening the meeting he noted that the links between Russia and Kazakhstan are based in the brotherhood and mutual understanding. "It is important to continue such cooperation, since we always can rely on each other", R. Gaynutdin emphasized.
He expressed support to the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. "The Congress became a great contribution to the development of dialogue between religions. It is a very important event", the Mufti stressed.
He also noted the high authority of Kazakhstan on the world arena.
K. Tokayev thanked the Russian Mufti for his warm words about Kazakhstan. He emphasized that during the Kazakh President's visit to Turkey N. Nazarbayev was acknowledged as a leader of the Turkic world. The Senate speaker also thanked the Mufti for the participation and speech at the III Religious Congress in Astana. He noted the significance to continue cooperation in this direction.
