Kazakh Senate Speaker complimented Kazakh-French top-level contacts

The main purpose of the visit is to study opportunities for extension of the Kazakh-French investment, trade and economic cooperation.

Welcoming the colleagues K.Tokayev complimented the dynamic development of relations with France that is one of the key partners of the country in Europe and highly appraised the results of the Kazakh-French top-level contacts. He expressed gratitude to the French side for support of the Kazakh initiative of holding the OSCE Summit this year.

The Head of the French delegation in his turn complimented socio-economic successes of our country and the role of Kazakhstan and its leader in the world arena, expressing confidence in success of Kazakhstan at the OSCE chairman post.

The sides exchange opinions on a range of international problems. The Kazakh Speaker expressed grave concern about the escalation of tension in Kyrgyzstan and stressed that the world leaders and heads of international organizations pin their hopes on peaceful settlement of the conflict on President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev as experienced and well-respected politician able to stabilize the situation.

He also complimented the measures taken by the OSCE in this dimension, in particular, sending the OSCE Chairman's Envoy to the country and expressed hope on success of this mission.

K.Tokayev thanked the French Parliamentarians for intention to take part in the coming Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum in Almaty.
