Kazakh Senate Speaker, Chairman of Turkey's Grand National Assembly met in Astana

ASTANA. April 27. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kairat Mami has held today negotiations with a delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey headed by Mehmet Ali Sahin within the II plenary session of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Parliamentary Assembly in Astana.

As the Senate's press service informs, the Speaker expressed satisfaction with dynamic development of the strategic partnership between the two countries having common roots and noted the importance of this visit for strengthening the Kazakh-Turkish bilateral ties.

K. Mami pointed out the important role of Kazakhstan and Turkey in deepening the economic, political and spiritual integration of the Turkic world. In October 2011 Kazakhstan plans to host the first Summit of the Turkic Council. "Our country attaches great importance to this event", the Speaker highlighted.

The Senate Chairman spoke for all-round support of the TURKPA activity and stated that Kazakhstan was ready to conduct joint work on implementation of the agreements reached in strengthening the ties between the two countries. He also pointed out the promising outlook of the cultural-humanitarian projects within the TURKSOY.

On June 28-30 Astana will host the 38th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. As the Speaker said Kazakhstan intended to continue contributing to ensuring regional and international security, development of inter-cultural and interreligious dialogue during its chairmanship in this structure.

Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mehmet Ali Sahin highly spoke of Kazakhstan's achievements and underscored the country's leading role in the Central Asian region. According to. Sahin, the results of the early presidential elections have demonstrated the absolute support of N. Nazarbayev's policy by the nation.
