Kazakh Senate's composition renewed after elections - CEC

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Turgankulov has summed up results of the parliamentary elections held in Kazakhstan on October 1 at a press conference in Astana today.
He mainly focused on the scope of renewal of the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament - Senate. "Composition of the Senate has renewed for 75%. The elections were held in a friendly and transparent atmosphere. No violations have been registered," Mr. Turgankulov told the press conference. In his words, international observers monitored the parliamentary elections in all regions of Kazakhstan. "The elections were organized at the international level," he added. Based on the results, 16 new Senators were elected.
