Kazakh Senate passes law on peacekeeping activity

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Deputies of the Kazakh Senate have adopted the law "On peacekeeping activity" at a plenary session today.
The document regulates participation of the national contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in peacekeeping and security missions in accordance with the international obligations of Kazakhstan. The law also sheds light on the principles, goals and tasks of peacekeeping activity. According to the law, the Government of Kazakhstan is entitled to make decisions on participation of civilian personnel of the national contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a peacekeeping mission. The Kazakhstani senators also ratified the agreement with Kyrgyzstan on border protection representatives.
