Kazakh Secretary of State invited to 2nd Women's Conference in Japan

At the meeting, Ms Abdykalikova stressed that Japan was one of Kazakhstan's most important partners. She went on to praise the results of Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Japan in 2008 that helped strengthen strategic partnership between the two countries. Ms Abdykalikova also highly estimated work of the Kazakh-Japanese joint commission for economic cooperation. The sides also touched upon the development of Kazakh-Japanese relations in social and humanitarian spheres and agreed to eye the possibility of signing of the bilateral agreement in the sphere of culture. Utmost attention was paid to gender equality, especially within the framework of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action adopted at the IV World Conference on Women organized by the UN in 1995. In conclusion, the Japanese diplomat handed Ms Abdykalikova an invitation to the 2nd Women's Conference that will be hosted by Prime Minister Shinzō Abe in Tokyo in August. NOTE: Two-way trade between Kazakhstan and Japan amounted to $1.7 billion in 2014.
