Kazakh scientists develop unique nutritional supplements for sportsmen
Kazakhstan launched the production of unique homegrown nutritional supplements for sportsmen and people working in harmful working conditions, Kazinform News Agency cites the Science and Higher Education Ministry.

The supplements help fight oxidative stress by protecting cells, as well as slow down the development of age-related illnesses, and boost working ability.
All the products passed mandatory expert review at the Kazakh Nutrition Academy and were registered as specialized diet supplements. It took three years to have nutritional supplements developed, tested and certified, the head of the project, a senior research scientist at NU NLA, Sergazy Shynghys said.
Scientists created three supplement products called Hormesis Oxy for professional athletes, elderly people, and those who exercise occasionally. The production will be boosted in the future to expand to global markets.
The products contain a mixture of various polyphenols derived from plants, gelling agents and adaptogen extraction. It also contains polydextrose, prebiotics, and dietary fiber which are good for people with diabetes.
Earlier Sergazy Shynghys developed the Qaynar supplements to help prevent cardiovascular diseases. Currently, he is working at delivering antibiotics directly to the cells to treat persistent infections.
The nutritional supplement production is funded by the scientists with the support of the Science Fund of Kazakhstan. It is expected to produce up to 120,000 packages a year.
It is worth reminding that intrenational researchers have developed a new method for cardiac arrest resuscitation, which is expected to improve the success rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and have a profound impact on the development of emergency care systems for critical conditions.
