Kazakh, Russian FMs talked over phone

ASTANA. January 11. KAZINFORM Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev has had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov today, Kazinform has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

The parties shared views on state and prospects of bilateral relations and discussed the issues of the international agenda.

K. Saudabayev and S. Lavrov noted positive dynamics of cooperation in 2010 having stressed that regular contacts and good personal relations between presidents N. Nazarbayev and D. Medvedev were the key factor and pledge of further fruitful development of bilateral interaction.

The parties discussed also the course of implementation of the agreements concluded within the III Summit of the Heads of the Caspian States held in November 2010 in Baku and defined certain joint steps in this sphere.

The activity of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization chaired currently by Kazakhstan was considered too. Particular attention was given to the issues of preparation for the Organization's jubilee summit scheduled for June 2011 in Astana.
