Kazakh round the world expedition reaches Cuba to promote its EXPO 2017 bid

   ASTANA. October 22. KAZINFORM Kazakh round the world expedition led by Dmitry Petrukhin reached the shores of the Island of Freedom. The main purpose of the expedition is to promote Kazakhstan's bid to host EXPO 2017. Cuba is a member of the International Exhibitions Bureau, which is to vote on the bids in November 2012.

The Kazakh travelers held a number of meetings in Cuba.

"Dmitry Petrukhin told us about Kazakhstan's plans for the exhibition EXPO-2017. The exhibition theme "Future Energy", proposed by the Government of your country is close to us," said Mario Aguilera, officer of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade.

"We also believe that it is time to transfer to new forms of energy - environmentally friendly and renewable ones. We are very pleased that Kazakhstan sent a delegation to invite us to take part in the vote. We will support Kazakhstan as a token of appreciation and friendship between our peoples."

Director of the Cuba Foreign Ministry's department for relations with Eurasia Santiago Perez praised the mission for establishing cooperation between the two countries and offered his ideas in this area. He said that the visit of Dmitry Petrukhin to Cuba will be the main lever to launch the first Kazakh-Cuban projects.
