Kazakh Prosecutor General, US Assistant Secretary Biswal meet in Astana
During the meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs there were discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral legal cooperation, as well as expansion and strengthening of the contractual base and legal aid in criminal legal sphere. The parties also discussed the cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and extremism, organized transnational crime, drug trafficking, cyber-crime and legalization of income obtained by criminal means.
The parties expressed their contentment with the achieved level of interaction. As noted by Mr. A.Daulbayev, the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan actively cooperates with the American authorities on the principles of reciprocity in solving the issues of combating crime, rendering of international legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition. The Prosecutor General told about the main directions of activity of the authorities of the Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan, undertaken measures on ensuring law and order, having stressed that the protection of human rights during the criminal prosecution is a subject of prosecutors' special attention. Mr. Daulbayev and Ms. Biswal emphasized that the relevance of consolidation of efforts on counteraction against the challenges and threats of the modern world is objectively increasing in the context of contemporary geopolitical tasks on ensuring international and regional security, as well they expressed their readiness on further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
