Kazakh Prosecutor General K. Mami met U.S. Ambassador R. Hoagland

The parties focused on dynamics of bilateral cooperation of the Kazakhstan Prosecutor General's Office and the U.S. Department of Justice as well as on the issues of implementation of agreements on cooperation signed earlier.

In particular, the memorandum of cooperation with the FBI is successfully implemented by the Kazakhstan Prosecutors' Association and the Institute For New Democracies with the prospect of establishment of a Kazakh-American Legal Association.

Creation of such structure in future will allow establishing cooperation between the lawyers of Kazakhstan and America, providing opportunities for professional exchange between the academician circles. This is also directed on improvement of understanding of the peculiarities of legal systems, creation of legal environment promotion of bilateral investments.

In the course of the meeting the U.S. Ambassador congratulated K. Mami and all prosecutors of Kazakhstan on the Day of Prosecutor's Office, thanked for the meeting and expressed hope that cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice would be actively developed.

Upon completion of the meeting the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Bureau of Legal Statistics of the U.S. Department of Justice signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The document will be submitted to the American side for signing.
