Kazakh President to visit Tajikistan in September 2014
"Together with my Kazakhstani colleague, we've discussed the pressing issues of international agenda, bilateral interaction within regional organizations and various aspects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. We have once against reiterated that relations between the two states are based on the principles of good neighborliness, trust and partnership," Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov told the press conference after the meeting with Erland Idrissov in Astana. He also added that ‘cooperation with Kazakhstan is a priority of Tajikistan's foreign policy.' Erlan Idrissov, Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan, said the talks were held ahead of the upcoming top-level meeting of the presidents of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in Dushanbe this September. In his words, sales turnover between the countries reached $700 million in 2013. "We need to preserve growth rates of sales turnover at the same level and expand bilateral trade," Minister Idrissov added.
