Kazakh President to unveil Abai monument in Tashkent

ASTANA. June 10. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan. This has been announced today by the official spokesperson of the Central Communications Service Altai Abibullayev.

"On 13-14 June, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on the invitation of his Uzbek counterpart Islam Karimov," Mr. Abibullayev elaborated.

In his worlds, the state and prospects of economic, humanitarian and cultural cooperation between the two countries will be discussed during the high-level talks. The Kazakh and Uzbek leaders are to touch upon the security issues in Central Asia as well.

"A wide range of important bilateral and intergovernmental agreements will be inked after the top-level negotiations in Tashkent. President Nazarbayev is expected to attend the official opening ceremony of the new premises of Kazakh embassy in Uzbekistan and the unveiling ceremony of a monument to Abai in Tashkent," A. Abibullayev added at the press briefing.
