Kazakh President's Special Representative met with leadership of Kyrgyz Interim Government

BISHKEK. May 17. KAZINFORM /Yevgeniy Novikov/ Kazakh President's Special Representative for Cooperation with Kyrgyzstan Bulat Utemuratov met with Head of the Interim Government of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva and Deputy Head of the Interim Government Omurbek Tekebayev on Saturday.

The sides discussed extension of the bilateral cooperation and joint solution of topical problems.

In particular, the parties discussed the opportunities of creation of mechanisms regulating the situation with labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan and issues of development of the trade and economic relationships by opening freight transportation through the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border for consumer goods and fuel and lubricants.

The issues connected with the constitutional reform were discussed at the meeting with O.Tekebayev. In particular, O.Tekebayev informed of the work of the Constitutional Council, peculiarities of the suggested draft Constitution of the country. He said the draft Constitution would be submitted for the Interim Government's consideration on May 17 and its final variant will be published on May 19-20.

B.Utembayev noted that Kazakhstan supports the efforts of the Interim Government on stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan.

The issues of opening of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border were discussed at the meeting as well.
