Kazakh President's policy lets ensure stability in CA, Thorbjorn Jagland

BRUSSELS. February 24. KAZINFORM "Policy of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev lets ensure stability in Central Asia," Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland told after the meeting with Chairman of the Kazakh Constitutional Court Igor Rogov in Strasbourg.
"Presently, we are working at implementation of the joint action plan. Kazakhstan will become soon the full-fledged member of the Venice Commission," Thorbjorn Jagland said.
"Kazakhstan plays an important role in the Central Asian region. Policy of Nursultan Nazarbayev allows ensuring stability in Central Asia of vital importance for the peace in Europe," he underlined.
Besides, he noted positive changes in the sphere of democratization of Kazakhstan. "The recent parliamentary elections that let increase the number of parties in the Senate is a move in a right direction. Nevertheless, Kazakhstan has yet to reform legal and law-enforcement systems to lay foundation for further development of democracy and observance of human rights," he said.
