Kazakh President received Prosecutor General Kairat Mami
K. Mami informed of the results of work in 2010 and priority tasks for the coming year, the legal situation in the country.
In 2010 Kazakh prosecution agencies held activities on implementation of the President's instructions regarding the increase of efficiency and improvement of work of the law-enforcement bodies, humanization of criminal legislation, strengthening guarantees on protection of the rights and interests of citizens.
Besides, the prosecution agencies have done a lot to overcome consequences of the financial crisis, including recovery of the banking system, provision of rights of home owners, protection of business. They also took measures to counter organized crime, corruption and environmental law problems.
As a result the prosecution agencies corrected 552 thousand violations of law; protected constitutional rights of more than 685 thousand citizens; cancelled 50,000 illegal acts.
They also continue work to protect the rights of entrepreneurs, in particular, take measures to curb illegal inspections by government agencies. 2,809 illegal inspections were prevented this year. That is three times more than in 2009.
