Kazakh President proposed as a candidate for Nobel Peace Prize

KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Participants in the cycle of events "Yaponsky Nabat" or the Japanese Alarm Bell dedicated to the victims of nuclear explosions have proposed to nominate President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev for the Nobel Peace Prize for his decision to close the Semipalatinsk test site and the initiatives on nuclear disarmament.
According to General Director of Kazakhstan National Archives Rysty Sariyeva, President Nazarbayev deserves this award, since he was first in the world to voluntarily shut down the Semipalatinsk test site, a zone of ecological disaster of global scale.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Nur Otan People's Democratic Party, Kazakhstan Map "Atameken" ethno-memorial complex, national and cultural centers of Astana.
