Kazakh President opens vocational school for orphans

ASTANA. July 4. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has opened a 300-place special vocational school for orphans on Saturday.

The cost of project is KZT 4.18 billion. Construction was realized by "Kazakhmys" Corporation.

"I spoke about the creation of such educational institution long ago. We will enroll 10-grade pupils, gifted children from orphanages. I asked "Kazakhmys" Corporation to realize this idea. I would like to thank "Kazakhmys" and its shareholders", the Head of the State said. He added that it was a nice present for the Day of the Capital of Kazakhstan.

Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Astana Akim Imangali Tasmagambetov, Head of "Kazakhmys" Corporation Vladimir Ni and head of Presidential Administration Aslan Mussin took part in the opening ceremony.

100 students will enter the school in 2009 and 100 more in 2010, the akimat's press release reads.
